Ms. Romeo is an experienced Medicaid Industry Business and Technology Leader, who has managed all aspects in delivering solutions for State Medicaid Programs and Managed Care Organizations. She has in depth knowledge and expertise in HHS/CMS/Medicaid Policy and IT initiatives.

With over 30 years of experience in information Technology, Ms. Romeo is an expert in large scale information technology operations and contract management. Michele has served in many capacities to both Federal and State government. In her role as an Industry Consultant for SAS she is a subject matter expert for executive clients in the Government Sector Practice.

Ms. Romeo served as the Chief Information Officer for the New Jersey Division of Medical Assistance and Health Services (DMAHS) in the Department of Human Services. DMAHS administers New Jersey Medicaid and NJ FamilyCare. In her position as CIO for New Jersey Medicaid she was responsible for Information Systems as well as the Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS) contract and the implementation and oversight of the New Jersey Health Benefits Contract, as well as many Public Welfare & Social
Services projects including Integrated Eligibility, and Child Support. Ms. Romeo was responsible for the creation of the NJ State Health Information Technology Implementation Plan. Ms. Romeo has spent her 30 + healthcare information technology career with multiple hospitals, Medicaid managed care organizations and public sector organization including a SME to Federal CMS initiatives. She served as a member on the National Governor’s Association State Alliance Health Information and Communication Data Exchange Task Force, the CMS State Systems TAG, and the CMS MITA Business Architecture Review Board,
and was a member of the NJ HIMSS.

Ms. Romeo’s strong experience and expertise in the Government sector help assist in transforming the existing systems to meet the demands of the current business requirements. She provides domain and thought leadership to our engagements.
